In the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, ae.live, a longstanding Ventureaxis client, assumed the 'Official Venue Results' (OVR) role for Women’s T20 Cricket. As a new addition to the Games, data synchronization with the Olympic Data Format (ODF) was imperative.
Ventureaxis was entrusted with crafting a comprehensive software solution. Our scope covered the entire tournament lifecycle—player registration, squad verification, scheduling, match data, officiating records (including penalties/sanctions beyond match day), and ODF formatting for official distribution. The dataset included competition schedules, team rosters, entry data checklists, team nominations, tournament summaries, overall statistics, and medallist information.
Working closely with ae.live and SwissTiming (responsible for OVR, data, and broadcast graphics across all Commonwealth Games events), Ventureaxis played a pivotal role in formulating the Olympic Data Format (ODF) specification specifically for Cricket. This collaborative effort established a standardized data framework for future Commonwealth Games and events utilizing the ODF.
